Dare to Care partners with Yang Kee Noodle…To make Christmas a little more joyful this year, Dare to Care is partnering with Yang Kee Noodle to battle hunger around the area…
To keep feeding families across the area, Yang Kee Noodle has pledged its’ support this Christmas season to make a difference in the community. “Been so fortunate in Louisville here, had (the) Oxmoor location since 2003. We just opened Middletown and Highlands store (which is) coming soon,” operating partner Dan Huckestein said. Dan Huckestein decided to offer 20 percent of his proceeds on a day during their busiest season to donate to Dare to Care. The partnership comes at a time when the need in Louisville is great and fighting hunger is an everyday battle. “One in six families are struggling to put food on the table and that’s a yearlong effort to try and help them and make ends meet to stay healthy,” Dare to Care spokesman Stan Siegwald said. Yang Kee Noodle collected money throughout its 11-hour business day. With the money, more programs can be created, meaning more lives can be changed. “For every dollar they give us we can get food to put four meals into community with money they give us and more meals for community kitchen,” Siegwald said. Proceeds totaled more than $5,000 going to Dare to Care. Yang Kee Noodle wants to start an annual initiative for Dare to Care during the holidays.
“We’re happy to be able to give back part of our proceeds sort of a thank you to the community for being so good to us these years,” – Dan Huckestein –
